Activities: Targeting Social Need

We published our New Targeting Social Need Action Plan following consultation on our draft Plan. As a public body we can contribute to the new TSN initiative by promoting social inclusion, measuring inequalities and involving local people in decisions about their health and social care.

We have liaised with NHSSB on the identification of disadvantaged areas and have actively sought to promote increased awareness of our existence. A number of our Council meetings are held in these areas and local community workers are invited to attend and offered the opportunity to discuss local health and social care issues.

In addition to our own services we continue to work in partnership with other statutory organisations and voluntary and community groups to progress this initiative.
