Having our say

Listening, informing, advising, monitoring and influencing, that’s what the NHSSC’s all about. We take every opportunity to have our say and to speak up on the public’s behalf.

We meet regularly with Board and local Trust officers
We hold an annual joint meeting with members of the Northern Health and Social Services Board and with the Boards of the three local Trusts
A member attends the monthly meetings of the Northern Health and Social Board and the three local Trusts
We are represented at the annual public meetings of the three local Trusts
We liaise with Trusts outside the Northern area particularly where a regional service is provided
We liaise with community and voluntary organisations, local Medical and Dental Committees, Dalriada Doctor on Call and the newly established Local Health and Social Care Groups
We visit Trust and privately owned facilities and feedback our findings
We are represented on over 50 groups and committees, both regional and local
The Chairman and Chief Officer meet regularly with their counterparts in the other three Councils
We consider and respond to a vast range of consultative documents both from within and outside health and personal social services in Northern Ireland
We conduct a range of research projects
